I can not believe that it is Decmeber already. Time is really flying this year.
Check out what I made today. These are going to be for a cousins son. I see my cousin once a year, so I really don’t want to break a bank that is already tight. I was surfing food blogs and crochet patterns when I found them on Bittersweets blog, http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/ , and thought that they were adorable. So I followed the links and ended up here, http://www.aliciakachmar.com/blog/craft/safety-cone-to-the-rescue/ , and I made one the other day in the only yarn I had at the time which was red. I thought if I turn it upside it would make a perfect red tornado, which is our school mascot. The other day my neighbor was going throught her drawers and gave me a huge bag of craft stuff, in the bag there was saftey orange yarn, Perfect. I opted for no eyes or faces, since they are going to be paired with a monster truck for a 3 year old with a little brother. I think they came out really well, the pattern was super easy. Thanks to the Create blog for sharing the pattern.
Lexy is being a real champ with her eyes. She should no long be contagous, but she is still red and goopy. She crys when I have to put the medicine in her eyes, but she still allows us to do it.
Tonight Gryffan had his first wrestling practice in over a week. He came down stairs with a huge smile on his face. I said was it a good practice, and guess what he said. “I won on points” I have never been so excited. Not that my kid is a winner, cause that would make any momma proud, but because he has never ever won on points. His only 2 wins have been with a pin. This means that he is actually fighting back and that he is learning! We signed him up for a tournament next Saturday the 13th, even though money is super tight this week. Mainly because if he gets into the CTY he really wont have all the time to be sitting all Saturday at tournaments, so this may be our last year to do them. This tourny is really nice but long! We get up around 5 to drive and hour to sit for 12 on bleachers. Hopefully it will go well with Lexy.
After practice, Gryffan reminded me that the book fair was over in the library. I asked if it was the buy one get one free fair, but he did not know. So we checked it out. I love the kid. I tried to get out of it, because I knew I would spend money at the fair, we all love books. I said to him, how about we skip the fair and I will get you a candy bar at the store, and he says, “Nope i would rather a book”. Guess what, he got 2 books, Lexy got 2 books and because he won me with that answer he got a candy bar too.
Sometimes Gryffan comes off with the best things, we call them Gryffanisms. One of my favorites was when he was 3 years old, I was fixing his pants because the boy was/is so darn skinny and it was before adjustable pants were all the rage, and he looks at me and asked “Mommy are you Cinderella.” I think I found my prince. Well today he came up with a new one that just made me laugh. He came off the bus and I asked him how his day was. “Mom I have some bad news for you, but great news for me. My mustache is starting to grow. If I am lucky I will have a full mustashe by the time I am 15!!!” I started to chuckle and he said “No Mom seriously feel it!” Where do they get these thing??
