Project 365- Day 28

Project 365- Day 28

I got a new photography toy in today. A nice big 42 inch round 5 in 1 reflector. It is a gift from my husband. He knows I hate flash. I hate studio set ups. I like to see what others can do with lighting, I just don’t feel personally creative when I am shining a big light at someone. What makes it different with a huge disc that I am shining at someone, I don’t really know yet. This was big and I needed someone else to hold it for some of my shoots. I was able to hold it myself for others. I know that there will be no sneaking up on a three year old with a shiny disc bigger than they are, but it will be fabulous with teenagers and my own spawns. Normally I would have had to mess with this shot a bit in camera RAW. It was in a wooded area, with partially sunny skies, which would have normally given me shadows or a generally dark picture. With the reflector, this is SOOC, except for the black and white. I am in LOVE!

Project 365- Day 22

This cup was my great grandmother. She loved her tea cups. I remember certain things about her, her molasses cookies, the paper thin skin on her cheek and hand, her violets on the window sill and her tea cups. I pass on what I remember to my children. We cuddle under the quilt she made when she was a young girl and we drink tea from her cherished cups.
