Every Monday I get Bangles songs stuck in my head. It wasn’t really manic though. Once I get the kids to focus there energy we are all good. There is just so much they want to do everyday. I think it is a side effect of the tv being off. They have to think of other things to do and there is just so many options out there. I have found that sitting down with them at breakfast and writing things down helps a lot.

Today Gryffan finished yet another book. What is a mom to do? This one was about a boy and bugs, I get it was really good because he got right through it.

Lexy had a movie date with the girl up the street from us. She is in college, but she love Cinderella too, so they have movie nights every now and then. Lexy gets really excited for them and counts down the days. This time they watched Cinderella 3 because Victoria had never seen that one before.

Today was the end of Tim’s motorcycle saftey class, and the day of his license test. Which he passed, WHOOOO HOOO! Now I need a baby sitter, because I am going for a ride. I am a little nervous, but if I never get on the back of the bike, how is he going to learn how to drive with 2 people. And I most definately want him to learn with me on it, before he takes the boy. That is really scary. I think I want GP to take Gryffan out first before Tim.

The kids and I had a good day though. Gryffan and I worked on painting the deck. We got it pretty far. I wish it wasn’t a mulitple day project. All the stopping and starting is killing me, I just want it done already. But Gryff got a real kick out of helping, and hey any help is better than none. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, so Tuesday I am planning on finishing the deck part, and then it is all up to Tim to get out the ladder and climb up and get it done. I do not do ladders. (((((Shudders)))))

Gryffan finished ANOTHER book today. That makes 3 in one week. Pretty amazing!

This morning Lexy dressed herself. It was one of those things where you want to carry a sign that says, she dressed herself. It was pretty bad. And she totally raided her jewelry box and wore every single piece in there. And her horns.

I thought for sure it was going to pour today while we were walking over to karate. The sky got all black and the wind chilled a bit. I had to hunt the whole house for an umbrella for each of us, because it is the summer and well…. siblings do not share, especially in the heat. We walked over there with our umbrellas, the whole time it is dark and ominous. After class walk out an it is absolutely beautiful. No sign of a gray cloud anywhere. If I did not search like a crazy person we would have been caught in a major storm.

In the afternoon, with the sun shining brightly, we headed to the back yard for a water ballon fight. This is one of those, you don’t appreciate until you are, type of thing. When you are little the water ballons are endless, mom or dad are always there to hand you another one. The realitiy of it is that once you are on the other end of the ballon you are standing by a faucet getting soak and wet for over 30 minutes, you drag the booty out to the kids who then proclaim, is that ALL of them? Ah childhood.

Ready, Aim, Fire

After the waterballons, Lexy and I went it to make dinner. We made stuffed shells with tofu riccota and spinach. She was my sweet little helper, and like mommy, stuffed shells are her very favorite. Gryffan got sick right before dinner, I am thinking it had something to do with the heat and not enough water, but he went up to lay down and passed right out. He was out cold too.

Later on we went out side again, and Lexy was back on her bike, but before I knew it the storm that was treatening in the morning, happened and it was pouring. Lexy took the time to dance in the rain and jump in puddles. Good thing she was still in her swim suit. Check out this cool picture I took. I know that it was a double exposure because it looks like she is holding someones hand.

Today we went shopping. We hit 3 stores in the morning before I could not take the crowds anymore and announced we would finish shopping next week. We have more than enough food for the weekend. Seems like there was more people out today than these is for Black Friday. Ok maybe I exagerate, but it was packed.

At the grocery store in town, they are celebrating their anniversary, so the kids got their faces painted and free ballons. Lex went with a heart on her cheek, while Gryffan wanted his name. I am not really sure where that came from, but that is what he wanted. And then he was paranoid all after noon that the girl spelled it wrong. I had to keep telling him that it was right, don’t worry. He is growing up though, he refused the ballon.

In the afternoon I took a nap. I was exhausted, going with out any coffee for the second day in a row. But also because Cooper got sick in the house AGAIN! Nothing like being woken up at 5 in the morning to clean up after a dog who could not control himself. Ugh! And Em was going crazy barking, like she was trying to say,”Cooper did it, not me!”

After I woke up, the kids were let loose on their bikes again, at least until Tim started fiddleing with the bike. Then Gryffan was right there watching him. Lex rode for almost 2 hours! She loves that bike.

We went strawberry picking today. One of the farms near us has a pick your own berries, so we decided to head on over. I wasn’t expecting huge amounts of berries, but I was hoping for a great photo op. Lexy was really efficient at picking the berries. We had our container full in a matter or moments. But anywone who knows Lexy really should not be too surprised by that, after all this is the child who says that she wants to be called Strawberry.

Lexy had one of those popcorn containers half eaten before we had even gotten home.

Gryffan had another allergic reaction to a bug bite. We are not sure what kind of bug it was, but his whole ear swelled up again. It is really scarey, because it is getting worse and worse every time he gets bit. I have to talk to his DR about it. I am not to sure what they can do, maybe test him, to see what kind of bug he is having this reaction from.

Gryffan – 2 hours  :o We watched the Karate kid after dinner since it was rainning outside.

Auction Day. We tend to go down to the Hometown auction at least 2 times a month. This was the first time since last summer that Gryffan was able to go with us. It was a beautiful day for it too. Last time we went it was rainy and there was hardly any stands open. Not today, there seemed like there was not enough room for all the stands. We were on the lookout for the best deal for vegetable plants for the garden. We had no luck starting from seed this year, first set got wiped out by the frost and the last set got flooded. The only 2 things growing are the two that should not be growing, the okra and the white wonder watermelon. Go figure. We ended up getting a flat of plants for 12$, which was enough to fill the garden. We got eggplant, tomatoes, brussel sprouts, red leaf lettuce, peppers and a mystery plant. And maybe something else, I forget right now. lol After everything was in the ground we ran over to the landscaping place to get straw for the walkways, and while we were there we ended up getting 2 more bags of rocks for the dogs area. Slowly but surely I am going to get it done. (Ok and am I the only one saying, Don’t call me Shirley?)

Gryffan and I chose to walk over to karate tonight. When we started off it was nice out, but by the time we got to the dojo we could hear the lightening starting and I knew that I would be calling Tim and Lexy to come get us. My only hope was that they were aware that it was raining, and she was not in a bubble bath. Gryffan opened and closed the class tonight. He has been practicing really hard and it is showing.

Today, Lexy would have to say, was the BEST DAY EVER! Tim surprised her by allowing her to pick out a bike. We had been looking for a while for a 16 inch bike for her, but we had yet to actually get her one, after all there are so many pretty ones out there to choose from. Tim took her over to the bike section and she said that she liked the Barbie one the best because it had flower pedals. She rode the bike around the store and normally then she would have to put it back. Today Tim said to her, are you sure this is the bike that you want. She answered yes, and he took it to the register. Lexy was in shock and the smile did not leave her face all afternoon. When we got home she rode all night with only a pause for her dance class, where I had to beg her to get off the bike to go. One more lap mommy, I kept hearing. lol

This summer is going so well. Today was another beautiful day. We had breakfast outside and then we really did not go back inside all day. We took EM for a walk around town, which wasn’t very far considering how small Atlas is. You would have thought that she ran a marathon though, because once we let her back in the house all she did was lay around and pant.

Gryffan and I biked up to karate. It was the first time in a while that I rode my bike with out a trailor behind me. It was nice to be able to stop fairly quickly. Gryffan and I had a few races, but he cheats. He gets in front and then he slams on the brakes, and I have no choice but to brake or go over the handle bars.
